UITM   Puncak   Alam

Uitm Puncak Alam. This was truly a blessing in disguise. Who would've thought that the campus we complained about joining at first actually becme the campus we dream of going back every day. Well, we had to stay in Palam mostly due to SOPs and the then Covid-19 situation.

The stairs were hell but I cannot lie, they were good exercise. I guess the best part about Palam was getting a large room to ourselves and the food. Everyone misses the food in Palam. We sound really ungrateful but we're just being honest, Palam food was really good.

I genuinely enjoyed the Puncak Alam campus because there were so many beautiful places to go to for an evening stroll. I registered in the evening which was way later than everyone else but they never left me out and I even got to visit everyone's houses. Obviously Meen was my first visitor, I need her.

When I said beautiful places to for an evening and morning stroll, I wasn't talking about just the places. The skies never disappoint. You can view more picture by clicking on the Palam Gallery button^^

I think the only thing about Palam that was quite difficult for me was to socialize because the campus is huge and it's hard to make new friends. I still did though heheh, Nate and Shafiq were my first two friends other than my classmates and TESL Lovelies.

I also got to meet Hazim^^. Hazim was my twitter mutual at first and it was kind of awkward meeting him but Syed nd Raja were really good at making conversation and embarrassing me so everything went well.

As awesome as Palam was, I guess it's true that what matters is the people not the place. The first few days in Dengkil... were depressing, for all of us. I felt agitated to dress how I want and some things that spread around bout how many people didn't like TESL students was kind of sad.

Well, that was expected since most people have small brains an believe in stereotypes and labels. I was so worried about getting a roommate but turns out my housemates are amazing!

I have three Engineering housemates, one from Law and the best part is... me and my roommate are both from TESL.

Sure at first it was slightly awkward but after awhile we really did get along. There was never a boring day or night in that house. It was pretty lively even though I always leave the house first thing in the morning. Heheh. My housemates already know that when I leave, I come back in the evening and leave for dinner by 8 p.m. It's practically routine.

So what correlation is there with me leaving in the morning and the people in Dengkil? Everything was smaller. I would say if a giant had a cookie, and the whole cookie was Palam, Dengkil would be just a bite from the giant. That meant everything was closer which was true but I guess before this we lived in the same block so it didn't feel that far to go to anyone's room but in Dengkil, the different blocks make it seem do far away or I'm just lazy.

But every morning, I get to have classes with my classmates, whether at someone else's room or anjung, what mattered to me was that we could learn and be together. Also, since there's only one place to eat, it was easier for most of T10 to always have lunch and dinner together. I eat with them every day that it's gotten to a point where I feel sad and lonely if one person doesn't come down. We also have a specific group of people who come down every day including me ^^.

But as all good things have to come to an end, the announcement of CMCO crushed all of us. I didn't want to go back home but the odds were against me since my dad had called in advance to inform me that I have to go home. I won't get to eat with them. I won't get to laugh and joke round with them. I won't get to take silly videos and pictures of them anymore. I won't get to go and play sports with them :( But... a friend when they really live up to being a 'friend', no matter the distance, they are there for you.
